If Every Word I said Could Make You Laugh

If Every Word I Said Coule Make You Laugh by carmelinagunn

Rated T, AU, AH, BPOV, Canon pairings

Author's Summary: Bella moved to LA and has found "sisters" in 2 of her school mates. They meet 3 brothers in their new apt building & experiences love in more ways than one, in more depth than she knew was possible.

FFMR Review: Despite getting that song stuck in my head every time I read the title, this is a great story. It's a lot of fun. It kind of reminds me of The Lost Boys in the sense that the guys are in a band and live in the same building as the girls. That's how they met actually, running into each other in the elevator of their building. Of course, Rose and Emmett hit it off, Alice and Jasper, and Bella and Edward. Except one teensy weensy problem. Edward has a girlfriend back in Forks. Tanya. Bella is automatically drawn to Edward and has to accept the fact that they are just friends. Edward and her become very close, but there is a huge boundary...Tanya. Eventually, Edward and they guys have to leave to go on tour. Something happens while they are gone, and upon their return, Edward is a different person. And not in a good way. Bella is devastated, feeling like she'd lost her best friend, and the man she loved. She takes comfort in Jacob's company, until Jacob begins to get the wrong idea. Bella feels very alone and broken. Until one day, Edward decides to snap out of it and confesses to her what's been going on. Carmelinagunn takes her time with this story, letting the characters really get to know one another.

I found myself laughing out loud reading this story. Getting nervous when Bella got nervous. Getting angry when Bella got angry. It's so well written, you can absolutely feel the emotions going on. So, so good.

A little piece of the story:

"Bella?" He asked quietly.

"Edward, you aren't going to ask me what I'm thinking, are you?" I responded not as quietly.
I felt him laugh beside me. "You know me too well. Yes, I was going to ask just that."
"You ask it a lot, you know."
"Well I really want to know." He was serious now.
"Why?" So was I.
"Because I care about what you think." He turned to look at me but it was another one of those times that I knew I couldn't look back at him. I had been holding back my sadness all day and the seriousness of the moment was threatening to let it all to come flooding out.
"It's not important. I'm just going to miss you, that's all." He always got the truth from me. At least the most I could tell him.
"Hmm," he grunted beside me. "I'm going to miss you too."
"Yeah for about 8 hours. Then you'll be in Las Vegas with your friend, and then you'll be on the road meeting new people and playing shows. Then you'll be back in Forks with your family and your...Forks friends." Opps. I almost said "your Tanya". That would have been a dead give away of my ever building jealousy of the 2 weeks she was about to spend wrapped in the arms I dreamed of every night.
I shouldn't have said any of it, I know, it just came pouring out. I get really nervous when I know he's looking at me.
"That's true," he simply said. And then, "I will have all of those things, but none of those things are you Bella. So I'm still going to miss you." I had to look at him to see his eyes. I wanted to see the emotion in them when he said that so I risked it and turned to him.

The Mortal Instruments Movie

I reviewed this series quite some time ago, but the details about the movie are beginning to surface and I wanted to bring it back up. This is totally unrelated to fan fiction, but I kind of like the idea of discussing books turned movies on here. I am more than excited for the Mortal Instruments movies, but can I just say, who is doing the casting????

For those of you who haven't read it (shame on you), the description for Jace (main character) is....

Jace has fine curly gold blond hair and eyes that look gold in the light with long eyelashes. He has a slim, muscular build, and is about 5'11" in height. His face is described as being beautiful, sexy, gorgeous and angular, and Clary often refers to him as beautiful and leonine, with a narrow mouth. Like all other Shadowhunters, he is covered in thin, silver scars from years of applying various magical runes with a stele for battle and healing purposes, as well as permanent runes.

The only flaw in his face, as Clary noticed, is the slight chip in his incisor teeth. Clary is said to be relieved by this, as it is a proof that he is not that inhumanly handsome and perfect. (Source)

And THIS is who they cast??? Jamie Campbell Bower. I'm sure you know him from Twilight.
Jamie Campbell Bower Picture
He was fine in the Twilight series. Good actor. But Jace is supposed to be strong and gorgeous. Sorry, but Jamie doesn't fit the bill to me.

I'm not a huge fan of some of the other picks either, but this one is wrong. Although, I do like who they picked to play Isabelle Lightwood.

Alex Pettyfer should have totally been Jace.

Ok. My rant is over.

The Hard Way to Learn A Lesson

The Hard Way to Learn A Lesson by Stephaniiie

Rated: T - English - Romance/Humor - Edward & Bella-OOC-AU/AH-Mixed POV-Complete

Author Summary- Bad boy Edward needs to be taught a lesson. So his teachers come up with a plan- ‘marry’ him to the best behaved girl in school! How will his ego survive spending ‘eternity’ with Bella Swan!

FFMR Review- This is definitely not as adult as most of the stories on here, which isn't always a bad thing! This story is...fun. As the summary states, Edward is the bad boy. He is rude and cruel to Bella. For a psychology project at school, Edward and Bella get paired up to be "married" to one another for a few weeks. Edward was almost always the mastermind behind the false rumors spread about Bella. So needless to say, they were both disappointed with the pairing. At first, Edward is still rude to her, mostly leaving her with his sister, Alice. Which doesn't bother Bella in the least. She cannot stand Edward. But spending every day together starts to slowly change that. And it isn't until they are pulled apart that they realize what they really mean to one another. Lots and fluff and angst. Love it.

A Little Piece of the Story-

But, as thunder rumbled outside and images of the beautiful girl who was now sleeping next door – sigh – ran through my head, sleep refused to take me again. My fingers flexed under the sheets, desperate, I knew, to run delicately across piano keys. I hadn't wanted this so badly in years. I should have known that fiddling around with the piano the other day had been a bad idea. I knew that, if I started playing again, Alice would make the wrong ideas; think that I had continued to play without her. And even I would think that callous after all that we had been through.

But I was already sneaking up the second flight of stairs, desperate to break my own rules; to make beautiful music.
I pulled the sheet off of the piano and eagerly sat down on the stool. I stared at the ivory keys for a long moment, and then laid my fingers on some. I closed my eyes and thought of Bella, and I played what came to me. That was how I had composed Esme's songs before… I let that thought trail off before it came back to haunt me and listened to the melody I unconsciously played.
It was alarmingly sweet and adoring… almost girly. I hated that one girl could make me feel like this. Was this how I made other girls feel? Wow. I thought everyone just got with me so that they could get some. Not because their pulse raced every time they saw me and I was all that they could ever think about. Did I make Bella feel like that? Don't be stupid, Edward, I told myself firmly, the girl hates you.

Book Review- The Hunger Games

It's good to be back! I am kind of ashamed to say that I did not read The Hunger Games books by Suzanne Collins until I saw that they were making a movie out of it. So many people recommended this series to me, but I did not listen. But now, I am here to tell you that the series is absolutely amazing and I could not put it down. I was also quite surprised at how well they transferred the first book onto the big screen, which is a lot of the time, a huge disappointment. But not in this case. So go grab the first book, then check out the movie when it comes out!

In order the books are: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mocking Jay

Summary

The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of the current nations of North America, in a Stalinist nation known as "Panem". Panem consists of a hugely rich Capitol, located in what used to be the Rocky Mountains, and twelve (formerly thirteen) surrounding, poorer districts which are under the hegemony of the Capitol. The Capitol is lavishly rich and technologically futuristic, but the twelve Districts are in varying states of poverty – the trilogy's narrator and protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, lives in the poorest District 12, formerly Appalachia, where people regularly die of starvation. As punishment for a rebellion generations previous against the Capitol wherein twelve of the districts were defeated and the thirteenth purportedly destroyed, every year one boy and one girl from each of the remaining twelve districts, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are selected by lottery and forced to participate in the "Hunger Games". The Games are a televised event where the participants, called "tributes", must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The winning tribute and his/her corresponding district is then rewarded handsomely with food and plenty. The purpose of the Hunger Games is to provide entertainment for the Capitol and to serve as a warning to the Districts to remind them of the Capitol's power and lack of remorse. (Source)

In case you didn't know....

Ok. I'm back. I missed this too much!

Wow! Over two years ago, Presty reviewed Master of the Universe on here. Today, that story is a best seller, now known as the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. If you haven't it you should. It has been taken down due to the story being published, so you'll have to actually go get the book (or e-book). But trust me. It's worth it :)

Oh and BTW- LOTS AND LOTS OF LEMONS!

Sadly, I must go.

I am sad to report that I am a failure at keeping up with this blog. I really do not want to delete it because there are a lot of great fanfics on here. I am still accepting any new writers and will even turn the site over to someone that wants to take the reins. I just do not have time to read the fanfiction anymore, sadly. I enrolled in school, work IT department blocked fanfiction.net, and I have taken on another blog. It has nothing to do with Twilight, but it is still hopefully entertaining. Jumble Mash is new and will hopefully last longer than Must Read Fan Fic. Check it out.

Gulf Coast Oil Disaster

"It's day 50 and there is no end in sight."

I felt a strong need to get this message out there and can only hope that my readers will spread the word. They are predicting that this disaster, the worst oil spill in U.S. History, could go on until fall! Our environment is suffering tremendously. CNN (and many others) are covering the spill and updating quite frequently. You can watch a live underwater video from BP of the gushing oil as well as view some hi res photos. But most importantly, they are informing us on how to get involved. Please visit the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster site and read about how you can make a difference. I know I cannot sit around and do nothing while our environment is being destroyed. Any little bit helps, people!
