Sorrrrrrry

So, I've been kind of slow updating lately and I apologize to my readers. I've been traveling and trying to read The Vampire Diaries. And that's what prompted me to post this evening. I'm on the last book, and I'm totally on the fence about it. I tried, tried, tried not to watch the series until I finished the book, but I couldn't help myself. And the damn series is soooo different from the book and that just makes me sad.

But what I really wanted to know...what do you guys think of The Vampire Diaries? I really can't decide whether its worth reviewing, or just maybe discussing, so I'm gonna go with the latter. Email me, or drop a comment to let me know your opinion. Maybe we can get a debate going? huh? No? Yes? :)

  1. I again had no idea that this show (much like 'True Blood' was based on an actual book series. How is it? I'm not too keen on watching or reading the 'The Vampire Diaries' series because I still have my hands full with my favorite vamps in 'Twilight'. lol. I have been told to read the sookie stackhouse series, so that's next on my list.

The show, based on the previews I watched, seemed like it wouldn't be too good. So I have yet to see an episode. What are your thoughts?

Oh! And I have a fic reco for you. "The Best Man" by Bratty-Vamp. It's a fic I read a while ago, but it still crosses my mind every once and a while, especially when I hear a song mentioned in the fic. Beautifully written and it has some unexpected twists. Check it out and let me know what you think if you haven't already read it! :)

  2. Crystal,
I actually don't like the TV series. But I think its because I read the books first. I've heard a couple people say the opposite. But I've completely given up on both. I just can't love them like I love my Twilight. I guess there are two more books coming out of the Vampire Diaries, and I honestly doubt I'll even bother.
The Sookie Stackhouse books, I've heard are pretty amazing. Shamefully, I have yet to read them, but they are on my list. I feel like I can't get caught up! If you haven't you should def. check out the Mortal Instruments series. They are absolutely wonderful. I got every reader I know hooked on them.
And because I love you so much (hehe) The Best Man will be my next read. Thank you so much! Oh, btw, did you get a chance to read Just one of the Guys?

  3. I've heard all about the mortal instrument series, and it is definitely on my list to read. Truth be told, I think that one of my best friends is buying them for me for Chrsitmas since I have taken such a long time to pick them up. I've heard nothing but great things about them though. So I will read them eventually.

As for Just one of the Guys, would you believe that I still haven't read it yet! I opened up the link and read most of the first chapter but then had to leave, so I added it to my favorites. I'm beginning to call my favorites the black hole, because I have SO many fics saved that I intend to get back to. It's next on my list though. I see that it has a lot of reviews, so I have no doubt that it's a great fic. :)

I can't believe you are just now reading boycotts and barflies! That fic was so good. I actually enjoyed it so much that I listened to the auidobook version on podcast a couple months ago, even though I read the fic over a year ago. It was exciting to listen to as well. If you're interested in reading along or checking out the podcast, it's called iFic. They record some of the more popular fanfiction out there.

I think I will tackle Just one of the Guys this weekend. I'll be sure to report back!

  4. I know what you mean about the black hole! I have so many fan fic's lined up, plus the actual books I'm reading! There aren't enough hours in the day! I am pretty bummed that I didn't read Boycotts and Barflies earlier...it was a great fic. I hope to start on the Best Man today! *crosses fingers*
