Bella and Jasper lost the love of their lives in one tragic day. The battle with Victoria took its toll on the Cullen family, as well as Bella.

Alice had but one request before she perished, and that was for Jasper to watch over Bella. Although all he wants is to end his own existence, he does it for Alice. Jasper's pain is almost more than he can handle, and he refuses to let anyone else feel it. He devotes himself to looking out for Bella, but when Bella finds out he's been watching her sleep every night, how will she react?

How will her best friend Jacob react? Bella and Jasper had never been close, will she allow him access to her darkest thoughts?

My eyes wandered over to her again. A mixture of sympathy and anger washed over me and in that moment I lost my concentration. I could no longer keep her from suffering and I saw her jerk.
